1,300 vaccinated at clinic
MUSC Health Florence held a drive-through COVID-19 mass vaccination event on Wednesday, March 31 at the Florence Center.
For the first time, people ages 16 and older were able to get their shot. Earlier this month, Gov. Henry McMaster and the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control lifted all vaccination limitations.
“We’ve seen a lot of Francis Marion University students, which is great, and other students and people ages 16 and older,” said Elizabeth Crowley, an MUSC Administration Fellow.
The goal of MUSC Health Florence’s second mass drive-through clinic was to vaccinate as many as 3,000 people.
The event’s drive-through design allows people to drive into the arena, providing a weather-friendly experience, rain or shine.
“The Florence Center has been great to partner with to make this happen,” said Kyle Baxter, MUSC Health Florence Division chief operating officer. “We look forward to working with them and help do our part to end the pandemic by offering vaccines to our community.”
