Y to offer lifeguard classes

on Tuesday, 16 April 2019. Posted in News, Local News, Sports

The Y needs lifeguards for the summer. Must be at least 16 years old and an excellent swimmer. A swim test is required and must be passed 100% before a participant can start the course.

The course includes e-learning classes that are to be completed on your own before the course begins, as well as pool and class time at the Y, and includes certifications in YMCA lifeguard, basic life support (CPR), first aid, AED and oxygen administration.

Cost: $195/YMCA members, $230/participants (one half of the fee [non-refundable and non-transferable] required for registration, balance to be paid the first day of class, after passing swim test).

You must register one week in advance to complete e-learning before class begins.

Classes offered in May – classes last two weekends. Please call Cindy Averitt at 843-665-1234 for more information or visit florenceymca.org/aquatics.

The Y: We’re for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
