Sisters4TheFuture shows love to neighbors

The Sisters4TheFuture held a “Neighbor love” event on Nov. 19, providing a hot Thanksgiving meal, a bag of groceries and other items to those in need at the ministries new location Pamplico Highway.
“The Bible tells us to love our neighbors as ourselves, so that is where we got the title from,” said Terester McAlister-Kassa of Sisters4The Future. “We want to embrace our fellow neighbors with love and support.”
The ministry provided a drive-thru where motorists could come and just pick up a bag of groceries if the did not wish to get a hot meal served under the outdoor shelter.
McAllister-Kassa said that in recent weeks she has met with U.S. Sen. Tom Rice and S.C. Thrives Representative Jade Berkley. The items for the grocery bags were donated by S.C. Thrives and Harvest Hope Food Bank.
McAllister-Kassa points out that Sister4TheFuture is more than just a soup kitchen. It works in partnership with other organizations to offer assistance to those seeking help. It also offers computer classes for seniors and a healthy eating nutrition program.
