Sheppard to speak at PAC
Polly Sheppard, a survivor of the Emanuel A.M.E Church shootings which took place in Charleston in 2015, will share her story and testimony during a program Feb. 17 at the Francis Marion University Performing Arts Center.
The program will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for children. The program is being sponsored by the East Florence Community Organization.
The program will benefit the Sheppard Foundation, Inc. to help Mrs. Sheppard continue her travels across the country offering comfort to others who have suffered loss.
On June 17, 2015, Dylan Roof shot and killed nine people attending Bible study at Emanuel A.M.E. Church. According to Sheppard, Roof told he would let her live so that she could "tell the story” of his rampage.
In the years that followed, Sheppard, a native of Florence, has traveled the nation to share her story.
