SCFBF women present donation to Guest House
For the 11th year, members of the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation Pee Dee District Women’s Leadership Committee donated food and paper products as well as more than $800 to the Guest House at McLeod as part of the Our Food Link program.
Our Food Link is a year-round program that county and state Farm Bureaus use to provide information about today’s agriculture to consumers of all ages and backgrounds.
Several members were in attendance for the annual donation, including Joye Davis, Pee Dee District Vice Chair of the SCFB Women’s Leadership Committee.
“Supporting the McLeod Guest House is a good fit for us because they help families maintain the strength needed to care for their loved ones undergoing medical treatment by providing a ‘home away from home,’” said Davis. “This program also demonstrates how truly supportive the Farm Bureau women are of local charitable organizations and their dedication to helping those in need.”
The Guest House at McLeod is fully funded through charitable donations to the McLeod Foundation.
The house provides families from outside the Florence area comfortable accommodations with a warm home environment while their loved ones are receiving treatment at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
