SCDOT Reopens I-126 Flyover in Columbia

on Tuesday, 06 October 2015. Posted in News, Local News

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has reopened the I-126 flyover in Columbia on Tuesday, October 6. Motorists leaving Columbia on I-126 can use this bridge to travel eastbound on I-26 towards Charleston.

Please note: Motorists  traveling east on I-26 heading in the direction of Columbia will still find I-26 eastbound closed at I-126 due to high water at the Saluda River. In addition, the US 378 eastbound ramp has been closed near the Lexington Medical Center

Also note that I-95 from I-26 to I-20 (74 mile section is still closed).

SCDOT will continue to monitor these Columbia area bridges. If water levels begin to increase, SCDOT engineers may need to close these portions of these interstates to protect the public.
