Poynor Adult Ed teacher, volunteer to get state award
A teacher and volunteer at Poynor Adult Education Center will be receive state awards at the S.C. Association of School Administrators (SCASA) Innovative Ideas Institute in Myrtle Beach on June 23. Maria Wells, an ESL teacher, was chosen as 2015 Regional Part-Time Teacher of the Year (Pee Dee area). Edward Graham, a volunteer/mentor, will receive the 2015 S.C. Adult Education Citizen Leadership Award.
The Citizen Leadership Award goes to someone from the local community who is a friend of adult education. The SC Association of Adult and Community Education awards deserving people annually. These two were nominated by Til W. Morisey, director of Florence School District 1 and 4 Adult Education.
