McLeod Health welcomes neurologist, Dr. Kirby
McLeod Health welcomes Deborah L. Kirby, MD to the medical staff and McLeod Physician Associates. Dr. Kirby joins fellow neurologists Dr. Roland Skinner and Dr. Krishna Murthy as part of McLeod Neurological Associates. Dr. Kirby comes to McLeod from private practice with Cornerstone Neurology of High Point, North Carolina.
Dr. Kirby received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2003. She completed her Neurology Residency at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 2007, and her Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in 2008. Dr. Kirby holds Board Certifications from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties in Neuroimaging.
As a neurologist, Dr. Kirby provides care for post-stroke management, stroke prevention, seizure disorders, multiple sclerosis, peripheral nerve disorders, and neurological complications of other illnesses. Dr. Kirby completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology with emphasis in electromyography and neuromuscular disorders. Areas of expertise and interest include headaches, neuromuscular disease, and Botox® procedures for treatment of migraines, cervical dystonia spasticity, and other conditions.
