McLeod adds two physicians to medical staff
DRIGGERS

McLeod Health recently announced the addition of two new physicians, Dr. Jamie Driggers and Dr. Dierdre T. Young to its medical staff.

Driggers, a DMD, joins the practice of McLeod Family Medicine Center offering comprehensive overall healthcare for patients with a dental and oral hygiene program. In addition to caring for patients, Driggers will serve as a faculty member for the McLeod Family Medicine Residency Program.

Prior to joining McLeod, Driggers served as an instructor for the dental program at Florence-Darlington Technical College as well as a General Dentist with the Pee Dee Dental Group in Florence. She earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2008.

“Dentistry has always been more than a career to me – it is a passion,” said Driggers. “The passion comes from helping others, in watching the transformation to better dental health. To see the dental world and medical world coming together to treat patients in overall comprehensive health is a huge stride for patient care. I am excited to be a part of this endeavor.”

Young joins Dr. Joslyn Angus and Dr. Prakash Beeraka as part of Jeter-Skinner Family Practice. Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Young treats patients with a broad spectrum of adult health care needs, ranging from primary care to more complicated medical needs including heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, kidney disease and multi-system diseases.

“I enjoy the complexity of internal medicine, of caring for people with a wide range of needs and concerns,” said Young. “What I most cherish is the opportunity to communicate openly and create relationships with those who entrust their health to my care.”

A native of Florence, Young comes to McLeod with 12 years of experience serving as a primary care physician, most recently as part of Sandhills Internal Medicine of Hamlet, North Carolina.

Young earned her Doctor of Medicine at Univ Autonoma De Guadalajara, Guadalajara/Jalisco, Mexico and the New York Medical College (Fifth Pathway) in 2003. She completed her Internship and Residency training at Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York in 2007.

Young welcomes new patients and same or next day appointments are available.
