GAFFNEY—With the spring game set for later this week, the Limestone College football team has released its 2019 schedule – an 11-game slate that will feature eight South Atlantic Conference games and five home contests that will be played at The Reservation at Gaffney High School.
This year’s schedule will feature four NCAA Division II playoff teams from a season ago, including a pair of opponents from the ultracompetitive Gulf South Conference, while the Saints will also have to deal with an always challenging slate of SAC games, including conference newcomer UVA-Wise.
Season tickets renewals will begin on Wednesday, July 10, before season and single game tickets go on sale to the general public on Wednesday, August 7.
The Blue and Gold starts the season with a return trip to face the University of West Alabama on Saturday, September 7 at 6 p.m. in Livingston, Ala.
The Saints open their home schedule with back-to-back games at The Reservation when they host the University of West Georgia on Sept. 14 and Tusculum University on Sept. 21. Kickoff times are scheduled for 7 p.m. against the Wolves while the conference opener against the Pioneers is set for 1 p.m.
Limestone will play three of its next four games on the road, starting with a nonconference matchup with UNC Pembroke on Saturday, Sept. 28. The Saints and Braves will square off for the first time since the 2015 season before the Blue and Gold returns home to take on Catawba College on October 5 at 1 p.m.
Following road games at Wingate University (Oct. 12) and Mars Hill University (Oct. 19), the Blue and Gold is back home to play host to defending SAC Champions Lenoir-Rhyne University on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. Limestone then travels to take on new league member UVA-Wise for the first time on November 2.
The Saints close out the 2019 home schedule against Carson-Newman University on November 9 at 4 p.m. before traveling to take on rival Newberry College to finish the year on November 16. The NCAA Division II Tournament begins the following week with seven Super Region II teams qualifying.
