Jackson joins Heart and Vascular Institute
The McLeod Heart and Vascular Institute recently announced that vascular surgeon Dr. William C. Jackson has joined Dr. Carmen Piccolo, Dr. Eva Rzucidlo and Dr. Gabor Winkler at McLeod Vascular Associates.
Jackson's specialties include advanced minimally invasive endovascular surgery, aortic aneurysm repair, and treatment of peripheral artery disease and venous disease.
Raised in Columbia, Jackson comes to McLeod after completing a vascular surgery integrated residency program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
With Jackson’s training in percutaneous methods, he received credentialing in Fenestrated Endovascular Aortic Repair (FEVAR) a form of endovascular surgery for the repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms. For patients who are not a candidate for the traditional endovascular method of treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysms, this minimally-invasive option is available at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
When an aneurysm is located near an organ such as the kidneys there often isn’t much room for the vascular surgeon to attach the graft. FEVAR makes it possible to treat the aortic aneurysm that had been formerly inoperable.
McLeod welcomes Jackson, his wife Bri, and daughters, Holladay and Camilla to the McLeod Health family.
