ERS employees continue annual Christmas project
Employees at Employ Reward Solutions and Synergy have begun this year’s annual Christmas fund-raising efforts to assist local charities.
The employees have formed six teams which are competing to raise the most money for their chosen recipients – the House of Hope of the Pee Dee and Florence County Disabilities and Special Needs Board.
A different team is preparing and selling lunchtime meals each week until Christmas to compete for bragging rights for raising the most money from their efforts.
On Wednesday, November 28, chili, cookies, and bread were served by team Amber and Jimmy.
This week, tacos will be served and the following meal to be served will be lasagna.
Members from the DSN were at the chili lunch on the 28th. They mentioned how they greatly appreciate the donations that are given to them each year by the ERS employees.
Food is served from noon until gone or 2 p.m. The public is welcome to come enjoy a meal, on a first come first served basis, at the office at 151 West Evans Street (use back entrance from the County Complex parking lot).
ERS has conducted this holiday project since 2010. The funds raised by the employees are matched by the company and given to the two charities which had been selected by the employees. Last year, $7,000 was presented to the two non-profit agencies.
