Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library to offer weekly movies

on Wednesday, 30 May 2018. Posted in News, Arts & Culture, Local News

May 29, 2018 (Florence, SC) – Don’t be stuck out in the summer heat…come cool down at the Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library to watch a weekly movie matinee, at 10:30 a.m. on Fridays beginning on June 8th.

Go back in time with us each week as we share a key movie from each decade. We will begin with the 1950’s, showing one of Alfred Hitchcock’s thrillers and we will end with a 2017 super hero film. Featured films plots, in between the 1950’s and 2017, include a William Shakespeare play made into a movie about a courtship between two strong-willed people, another movie is about a chauffeur that forms a bond with his employer. Our 1970’s film will celebrate its 40th release anniversary, and our 1990’s film is based on a book written by Winston Groom.

We will show 6 weekly movie matinees. Our weekly movie matinees are made possible by Friends of Florence County Library. Admission is free. Groups are invited to participate but registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided. Call the Reference Desk at 843-413-7074 to register and visit www.florencelibrary.org for more information. The Doctors Bruce and Lee Foundation Library is located at 509 S. Dargan St. Florence, SC.
