DO YOU REMEMBER?

The Colonial Theatre, then located at 100 West Evans Street in downtown Florence, is shown in this photo taken in 1952. Originally known as the Florence Opera House, the building was constructed in the 1870s. It was remodeled in the early 1950s and converted to office space for city employees. The building was demolished in the 1970s and the land used as a parking lot. The site is now the location of the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce.
