Chace awarded $1,000 WoodmenLife Scholarship

West Florence High School senior Katie Chace has been awarded a $1,000 WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarship.

Chace, a WoodmenLife member, submitted an application highlighting her high school grades, activities and volunteerism, as well as an essay on patriotism.

The daughter of Hope and Brian Chace, she has been an active member in her school’s student government, serving as president of her class each year. She is also a member of the varsity cheer team, BETA club, National Honor Society, Biomed club and Spanish club.

Chace participates in local community service events regularly, including Special Olympics, McLeod’s Children’s Hospital Radiothon, local pumpkin patches, serving meals to the elderly and more. She and her family are members of WoodmenLife S.C. Chapter 52 in Florence. She plans to attend Charleston Southern University to study nursing.

The WoodmenLife Focus Forward Scholarship program is just one of the wide range of valuable extras the organization offers its members. A person becomes a member when they purchase a WoodmenLife life insurance or retirement product.

Since starting the scholarship program in 2017, WoodmenLife has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to nearly 4,000 students.
