Carolina Food Truck Rodeo wheeling into Florence
A brand new event is wheeling into Florence and hauling truckloads of tasty delights. The inaugural Carolina Food Truck Rodeo pulls into Florence on May 10th and 11th at the Florence Center.
The SMG-managed Florence Center has announced the debut of a new food truck festival combining music, drinks, games, and of course, plenty of food trucks of all styles. The Carolina Food Truck Rodeo will feature over 20+ food trucks from around the nation and a diverse range of foods. The slogan on the website “come hungry, leave happy” hints to a vast selection of foods to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites.
All types of foods and fresh eats will be available from dozens of food trucks. Trucks offering gourmet recipes, grilled meats, fried favorites, authentic cuisines, worldly flavors, and sweet treats will be positioned in the upper parking lot at the Florence Center and serving up delicious dishes to patrons. “We wanted to bring unique flavors and different food options to Florence so people could try new dishes,” stated Nick Hooker, Director of Marketing of the Florence Center. “We chose trucks offering eccentric items like gator bites, lobster rolls, and jalapeno waffles, plus we’ll have Italian, Polish, Hispanic, vegan, and of course we’ll also have southern traditions like smoked barbeque, seafood, juicy burgers, and more,” continued Hooker.
In addition to an abundance of food options, the Carolina Food Truck Rodeo will also feature a massive beer garden, live music daily, cornhole boards, and a kids’ play area. “Food Trucks - Live Music - Craft Brews - Good Vibes” is the motto of the festival which is offering free admission to attendees. A robust selection of craft beers, imports, and domestics will be on tap for guests to wash down their meals with. Southern Eagle Distributing has networked with numerous Carolina-based breweries to ensure a vast selection of local and craft beers. The rodeo’s presenting sponsor Wicked Weed Brewing is sure to have a beverage assortment available in the beer garden also.
Live music scheduled on the Budweiser Music Stage will keep guests entertained throughout the 2-day event. Local star Campbell Bridgeman will kick-off the event on Friday followed by Nashville recording artists, the Jebb Mac Band. Rising star Kendall Skinner will open the stage on Saturday followed by the outlaw songwriter style of official Budweiser musician Beam Country. Eaglewing, the ultimate Eagles tribute band, will end the festival Saturday in classic rock style.
There is something for all ages at the Carolina Food Truck Rodeo including fun for the littles ones. Parents may allow their children to play in the kids’ area with bouncy houses and rides while the adults sing, dance and mingle. Cornhole boards will also be available for all ages to enjoy some friendly competition.
