‘Bounce’ to headline Florence After Five

Those looking to bounce into their Labor Day weekend can do so in downtown Florence Friday as The Bounce Band will headline the August Florence After Five event,

The Bounce Band, based out of Raleigh, N.C., is a high energy party band that plays throughout the Southeast. Bounce is an eclectic group of musicians with years of experience, tremendous talent, boundless energy, and unmistakable chemistry.

“Bounce is the perfect band for Florence After Five as their playlist of songs target all demographics and tastes in music,” said Downtown Development Manager Ray Reich, “The variety of songs they play covers everything from dance, beach, country, pop and rock.”

Admission to Florence After Five is free, compliments Of Victors, MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, Commonhouse Ale Works, and Carolina Bank.

Florence After Five is located downtown in the 100 block of South Dargan Street and was again this year voted “The Best Local Attraction, Best Live Music And Best Place To Dance.” The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and the band takes the stage at 6 p.m. with the entertainment continuing until 8:30 p.m.

However, the downtown entertainment doesn’t stop at 8:30, following the conclusion of Florence there are numerous after parties at the various downtown restaurants. VilaNova will be playing in the Renaissance Dining Courtyard. Mörglbl will be the featured band at Local Motive Brewery and Jazz on Dargan will continue their weekend one year anniversary celebration with live Jazz.

Florence After Five is a family friendly event. Food is available for sale from a variety of food vendors including Victors, Wholly Smokin, Rita’s, Big Stan’s, Erika’s, Local Motive, Edible Arrangements, Sweet Tooth, Low Country Kettle Corn, and Fatz Café. The featured craft beers will be from Commonhouse Aleworks from North Charleston and as always Bud Light and Michelob Ultra will also be available. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of soft drinks from Pepsi.

For the kids, the Kids Zone will be presented this month by the Pee Dee Pickleball Club and will feature free activities for the children.
