Wilson High School has been named a member of the Super Bowl High School Honor Roll community which celebrates schools that have contributed to Super Bowl history. NFL Hall of Famer Harry Carson visited Wilson High School last week to make the presentation. The Super Bowl High School Honor Roll platform links the past 49 Super Bowls with this year’s game and honors the high schools and communities that have positively impacted the game of football.

Nearly 3,000 players and head coaches, and more than 2,000 high schools, will be recognized this season. High schools across the country and globe are receiving a commemorative Golden Football produced by Wilson for every player or head coach who graduated from the high school and was on an active Super Bowl roster. Players and coaches honored are from both teams that competed in the Super Bowl. Given that multiple honorees attended high schools in the community which no longer operate, the NFL is honoring Wilson High School in connection with those individuals.

Honored schools, including Wilson High School, will receive an NFL Character Education Curriculum and are eligible to apply for grants from the NFL Foundation to help support and grow their high school football programs. An assortment of Super Bowl High School Honor Roll visits are captured by NFL Films and are featured on CBS This Morning (Thursday mornings) and in Thursday Night Football and throughout the 2015 NFL season.
