FMU’s Hardee nabs third PBC Baseball Freshman of the Week award
For the third time this season, Francis Marion University left fielder Will Hardee has been named the Peach Belt Conference baseball Freshman of the Week, this time for the week of April 15-21.
Hardee hit .421 (8-for-19) for the week with seven runs scored, four doubles, a home run, and seven RBIs in four road contests for the Patriots. He reached base at a .455 clip and registered a .789 slugging percentage.
The South Florence High School graduate is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak, and has reached base safely in his last 13 games. For the season, Hardee is hitting .343, the second-highest average among freshmen in the Peach Belt. He is also tied for fifth in the conference with 15 doubles.
Hardee previously earned the PBC Freshman of the Week award for the weeks of March 4-10 and March 11-17.
