TURNING IT UP DOWNTOWN: After a year off, Florence’s annual summer music series to return June 25

The countdown has officially begun for “Florence After 5,” the popular monthly concert series in Downtown Florence. The Florence Downtown Development Corporation recently announced June 25 as the date of the first event of this year’s “Florence After 5” series. The band Hip Pocket is currently scheduled to perform. “Florence After 5” is typically held on the last Friday of each month from April through October on the 100 block of South Dargan Street. The series was not held at all in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials said events originally scheduled for April and May of this year were canceled out of an abundance of caution. COVID-19 safety measures will be in place during “Florence After 5” and all other Downtown Florence events. “Florence After 5” takes place in the 100 block of South Dargan Street between Evans and Cheves streets. Events run from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. and the band takes the stage at 6 p.m. Food and beverages are available at the event. All food and beverage sales are made via tickets, which can be purchased at our ticket booth located near the Florence County Museum. Just look for the big ticket flag! Tickets are $1 each. Both cash and cards are accepted. Convenient event parking is available in the free City of Florence parking garage accessed via 150 South Irby Street or in any of the available on-street spaces on West Evans and North Dargan streets, the S.C. DHEC parking lot, or the Business Technology Center parking lot. In 2020, Florence After Five was awarded “Best Community Festival,” “Best Place to Dance,” “Best Outdoor Event,” “Best Local Concert,” and “Best Place for Live Music.”
