Local artist wins best in show
Award winning piece by Lynda English, “Through The Eyes Of A Child, Looking Up”

Lynda English received the “Best In Show” Tony Hardwick Memorial Award at the opening of the South Carolina Watermedia Society’s 41st Annual National Exhibition on October 6. Lynda was recognized for her watercolor painting, “Through The Eyes Of A Child, Looking Up.”

The exhibition is on display at the City Art Gallery in Columbia through November 25. After that the exhibition of 63 paintings will travel around the state in conjunction with the S.C. State Museum. The exhibition was selected from 182 entries.

Laurie Goldstein-Warren was the juror for this year’s competition.

A local artist/teacher, Lynda is co-owner of the Lynda English Studio and Gallery with local artist/ teacher Jackie Wukela.

Lynda also won the SC Watercolor Society’s Best In Show Award in 2016 for her painting. “The Hands Of A Fisherman.”
