‘Game’s Afoot’ brings comedy, mystery to FLT

The Florence Little Theatre continues its 2017-18 season with the production of “The Game’s Afoot or Holmes for the Holidays” by the master of madcap comedy, Ken Ludwig.

  In the play, Broadway star William Gillette, famous the world over for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited fellow cast members to his opulent home for a dinner party. But when one of the guests winds up dead, Gillette will have to summon every ounce of Sherlock he can to solve the mystery. The danger and hilarity are non-stop in this glittering whodunit set during the Christmas holidays.

Directed by Shannon Dunn and underwritten by Habitat 2000 Apartments. The cast features Frankie Sullivan as William Gillette, Joan Shortall as Martha Gillette, Lloyd Willcox as Felix Geisel, Rebecca Perkins as Madge Geisel, Larry Falck as Simon Bright, Nikki Frabott as Aggie Wheeler, Dorothy Selmon as Inspector Goring, Meggie Baker as Daria Chase and John Eiler as the broadcaster.

This comedy is being performed Nov. 10 through Nov. 18, with the exception of Monday, Nov. 13. Curtain is at 7:30 each evening, except for Sunday, Nov. 12, which is a 3 p.m. matinee.

Recommended for anyone over age 13, tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $14 for anyone under 18 or a student. Tickets may be purchased online at, or by phone, M-F, noon until 5 p.m. at 843-662-3731, ext. 1, and the daytime box office.
