Florence Little Theatre presents Little Shop of Horrors January 25-February 3.

A deviously delicious Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi smash musical, Little Shop of Horrors has devoured the hearts of theatre goers for over 30 years. Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Beauty and The Beast, and Aladdin) are the creative geniuses behind what has become one of the most popular shows in the world.

The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he names “Audrey II” - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out of this world origins and intent towards global domination!

Little Shop of Horrors is underwritten by Armstrong Wealth Management and is directed by Arlene Boyd with musical direction by Shaw Thompson. The cast features Cody McKay as Seymour Krelborn, Kristen Hardaway as Audrey, Matt Sims as Mushnik, Frankie Sullivan as Orin, Kenay Dixon as Chiffon, Marcia Snowden as Ronette, Angel Troupe as Crystal, Ray Taylor as the voice of the plant, and Rebecca Perkins, Cheryl Brown, Natalie Ellis, Alonzo Davis, Jay Hilbourn, Lance Hatchell, and Cliff Jones make up the dynamic ensemble. This show features a larger than life plant puppet! This project is made possible through funding from the Florence Regional Arts Alliance’s Quarterly Grants Program, which is funded in part by a generous award from the South Carolina Arts Commission and the John and Susan Bennett Memorial Arts Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation of SC and due to the local support of Honda of South Carolina.

Little Shop of Horrors runs January 25-February 3, with performances Tuesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. There is no show on Monday. Tickets are reserved seating $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $20 for students and young adults under 18. Tickets are on sale now. Tickets may be purchased by phone, in person at the FLT Box Office located in Downtown Florence on Dargan Street or online at http:// www.florencelittletheatre.org/

Little Shop of Horrors is recommended for ages 12+ (some adult language and situations). Length approximately 2 hours.
