VOLUNTEERS PAINT BLACK LIVES MATTER MURAL
Visitors to the Pearl Moore Basketball Center will now be greeted by a block-long Black Lives Matter mural. The mural, located on Barnes Street, was painted over the Labor Day weekend by dozens of volunteers.
Jamel Howard, the artist who designed the mural, said he and the volunteers had been waiting for a stretch of good weather to take on the project. The volunteers ranged from elementary school age to senior citizens.
The Making a Difference program donated materials and supplies for the project.
An official unveiling will be held in the near future.
