St. John’s Epiphany Concert to feature Thompson brothers

The performers in St. John's Epiphany Concert Series on Sunday, Feb. 19 need no introduction to Florence area stages. Robin Thompson and Shaw Thompson will be featured in a concert at 6 p.m. in the Old Parish Hall, located at 252 S. Dargan St.

The concert will feature an eclectic program of music highlighting the musical skills of the two brothers.

Robin Thompson has served as director of music and organist at Dillon’s Main Street United Methodist Church for over 25 years. A Coker and Francis Marion graduate, he is an active leader in Dillon County Theatre, Florence Little Theatre, Masterworks Choir and the McLeod Foundation.

Shaw Thompson has sung multiple performances in concert, opera, and musical theatre throughout the southeast. He is a graduate of Coker College and the University of South Carolina School of Music. He is physicians marketing manager for McLeod Health and is married to fellow singer Rebecca Eaddy Thompson.

The concert is free and open to the public. Donations of non-perishable food items for The Manna House are encouraged.

The final concert of the 2017 Epiphany Concert Series will be on Feb. 26, when Florence Area Big Band performs in the church’s Fellowship Hall at 6 p.m.
