St. Anthony Parish to host 7th Annual Run For The Heroes
St. Anthony Parish will host its Seventh Annual Run for the Heroes event on the morning of Memorial Day, May 30, in honor of our country’s servicemen and women and their families. Runners and walkers are welcome as the event offers a choice of options to include a certified 10K, 5K and Honor Walk to participate.
In addition, all registered participants will be treated to a post race “Red, White, & Blue” pancake breakfast at the conclusion of the event. This year, each registrant will have the ability to participate in all of the events in honor of or in memory of a service member they designate. The service members’ names will be displayed on their respective wall during the breakfast to be celebrated by all who participate.
Organizers encourage everyone to register early for this event to benefit from this new feature. Sign in for participants and open registration will start at 6:30 a.m., a military tribute will commence at 7:30 a.m. and the race will begin at 8 a.m. The event will be held at 2536 West Hoffmeyer Road. Overall awards as well as age group classifications will receive recognition. T-shirts will be available for each early registered participant.
The rates for the event vary depending on the selected course chosen and if participation is as a family or an individual. Discounts apply for early registrants and also for military members. Proceeds will benefit St. Anthony School and the Pee Dee Chapter of the American Red Cross. Annually the Red Cross assists with emergency messaging for loved ones serving our country all over the world.
Registration information can be found on the school website at www.saintanthonycatholic.com or participants may register directly through the race coordinator site www.runsignup.com.
