Local campus hosts community health fair

on Monday, 11 June 2018. Posted in Good life, Local News

Virginia College in Florence will host a community health fair Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the campus located at 2400 David H. McLeod Blvd. The event is free and open to the public and will feature refreshments, a variety of health-related checks and activities for all ages. Attendees 18 and older can enter to win a pair of Jabra Elite 65t True Wireless Earbuds in addition to other prizes.

The event is part of Virginia College parent company Education Corporation of America’s national community health fair events being held at 59 other Brightwood College, Brightwood Career Institute and Virginia College locations throughout 17 states.

“With summertime often comes a reminder to get outside and a renewed motivation for healthy living,” says Academic Dean and Interim Campus President Amanda Holmes. “We are always grateful for the opportunity to support our Florence community, and this June, we're excited to host the community while promoting something we are all passionate about here at Virginia College—personal health. As a campus, we are dedicated to encouraging one another as well as our neighbors toward healthy choices, and we hope everyone will join us to take a step toward a healthy lifestyle.”

The event will also allow attendees to explore programs offered through Virginia College, including business administration, cosmetology, medical assistant, medical billing and coding and pharmacy technician.
