Freddy’s Frozen Custard is coming
Florence, get ready for Freddy’s.
Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers, an American fast-casual, 1950’s-themed restaurant chain, will soon be opening a restaurant on Pamplico Highway near MUSC Health Florence.
According to the company’s web site, the Freddy's menu features burgers, thin-cut fries, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, plus a patty melt and veggie burger. Freddy’s custard provides the base for the chain’s five signature sundaes and concretes. Customers can choose from 30 toppings to create their own.
The restaurant prides itself on its steak burgers. A steak burger is similar to a hamburger, but is made with a higher quality beef.
With nearly 400 locations nationwide, seven of which are in South Carolina, Freddy's was founded in Wichita, Kan., in 2002 by two brothers, Bill and Randy Simon. The restaurant is named for their father.
It is not yet known when the Florence location will open.
