FLT Gala featuring ‘Tuesdays With Morrie’
MITCH (BEN DANIEL) RECORDS CONVERSATION WITH MORRIE, PLAYED BY RON JEBAILY

The Florence Little Theatre is offering a two-night gala event which includes a reception, play and silent auction. The FLT Gala featuring “Tuesdays with Morrie” will be presented on Friday, Feb. 5, and Saturday, Feb. 6, at 7:30 p.m. The play is based on the book “Tuesdays With Morrie” by Mitch Albom. The two-man play features the autobiographical story of Mitch Albom, an accomplished journalist driven solely by his career, and Morrie Schwartz, his former college professor.

It was written by Jeffrey Hatcher and Mitch Albom. Sixteen years after graduation, Mitch happens to catch Morrie’s appearance on a television news program and learns that his old professor is battling Lou Gehrig’s Disease (ALS). Mitch is reunited with Morrie, and what starts as a simple visit turns into a weekly pilgrimage and a last class in the meaning of life. The FLT Gala featuring “Tuesdays with Morrie” is directed by Elaine Morehead. The production is underwritten by Quality Service Company and Johnstone Supply.

The cast features Ben Daniel as Mitch Albom and Ron Jebaily as Morrie Schwartz. The production staff includes Debbie Floyd, music design; Kitty Murrell, costumes; Alan Wyche, stage manager; Mark Davis, Jim Levine, Donnie Wheeler, stage crew; Gene Morehead, lighting operator; Marie Neely and Brenda Harrison, props.

Both evenings will include a reception and a silent auction following the show. All proceeds will go to support programs at the Florence Little Theatre. Tickets are $30 per person and can be purchased online, by phone or in person at the FLT Box Office located in Downtown Florence on Dargan Street. Box office hours: Monday- Friday noon until 5 p.m. Call 843-662-3731 or go to www.florencelittletheatre. org for more information.
