CEF plans Evening of Praise
Child Evangelism Fellowship, also known as CEF, will present “An Evening of Praise” featuring local artists on Thursday, Sept. 21, at 6:30 p.m. at Palmetto Street Church of God, 3132 West Palmetto Street.
This is a free concert, but a love offering will be taken to support the work of CEF through local Good News Clubs.
During the 2016-17 school year, the Heart of the Palmetto Chapter of CEF had Good News Clubs in 23 schools enrolling 1,688 children with over 120 children coming to know Jesus.
Child Evangelism Fellowship is a Bible-centered, worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to disciple them in the local church for Christian living.
CEF was founded by Jesse Irvin Overholtzer in 1937. Today it has over 1,800 missionaries over seas, approximately 1,600 of whom are nationals. In the USA and Canada 700 full-time workers and an estimated 40,000 volunteers serve the ministry. CEF has many different ministries for children, but the three primary ones are the Good News Club, the Five Day Club and the Truth Chasers Club (formerly CEF Mailbox Club).
The Greater Florence Chapter of CEF was chartered in November 1996. This chapter serves Florence, Darlington, Marlboro, Chesterfield and Dillon Counties. At the present time there are 14 Good News Clubs in Florence School District One and three in Darlington County schools.
