Carolina Bank VP Herbert inducted as IBSC president
Vera Herbert, vice president of Carolina Bank, was recently inducted as the president of the Independent Bankers of South Carolina
Herbert, a fourth-generation member of the Beasley family which founded the family-owned bank more than 80 years ago in Lamar, was elected president of the Independent Banks of South Carolina (IBSC) during the 2019 IBSC Convention.
The IBSC provides guidance, education, leadership and resources for community banks across South Carolina; along with the businesses and communities supported by these banks.
She becomes the first female president in the association’s 55-year history. The IBSC is the only state association to exclusively advocate and represent independent and community banks in South Carolina.
A native of Florence County, Herbert attended West Florence High School and later graduated from Clemson University in 1999 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in financial management.
She is also a graduate of the South Carolina Bankers School at the University of South Carolina and the Graduate School of Banking at LSU. She is married to Jamie Herbert and they have two children, Jacqueline and James.”
