Miss Stoughton, Mr. Pate exchange wedding vows
Susannah Claire Stoughton and Blakeney Morrow Pate were married Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016 at 6 p.m. at Saint Luke Lutheran Church in Florence, in a double-ring ceremony officiated by the Rev. Jeffrey Shealy. Wedding music was provided by Joyce Shaw, organist, Shaw Thompson, soloist, Kelly Jokisch, trumpet, and Jennifer Foxworth, violin. The bride is a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas LeRoy Stoughton of Florence.
She is a graduate of the College of Charleston and attends the Occupational Therapy program at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. David Blakeney Pate of Florence and Mrs. Janet Morrow Pate of Cape Hatteras, NC. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina and is the owner-operator of Chick-Fil-A in the Magnolia Mall. Kathleen Stoughton was her sister’s maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were the bride’s sisters, Allison Moore, Laura Stoughton and Mary Melissa Stoughton; and Molly Jones. Flower girl was Morgan Wheeler, the groom’s niece. Clifford Pate, brother of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Richard Bardauskas, Dante Fercana, Christopher Heyward and Brian Smith. Ushers were Michael Moore and Brian Ross.
Connor Moore, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Stephanie Stoughton and Clara Stoughton were program attendants. A reception followed the ceremony at the Florence Country Club, with music provided for the cocktail hour by Gabe Smallwood and for the reception by the Fountain City Players. Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the Pates will reside in Florence.
