The Teen’s Loving Christ Youth Choir comes to Florence

on Thursday, 14 June 2018. Posted in Arts & Culture, Faith, Local News

The Teen’s Loving Christ Youth Choir of Orange Park United Methodist Church near Jacksonville, Fla., will sing at First Presbyterian Church at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 17, during the worship service. Its members are made up of 41 youth in grades 7-12 who are dedicated to the ministry of music in their lives and in the church. The service is open to the public.

The choir leads in music and worship weekly on Sundays and sings for local nursing homes in the Jacksonville area of Florida. They are touring with 29 of these youth this year and 10 adults who are privileged to travel with them.

The program will present anthems from “Seize the Day,” a musical about discipleship with music by Point of Grace. The TLC’s have brought the Lord’s message to the Bahamas, The White House, orphanages, children’s and nursing homes and some 20 states. They sing for joy. They are not professionals – just ordinary teens who want to make a difference.

Orange Park United Methodist Church, with an active membership of 1,600 people, is located south of Jacksonville. Dr. Charles Lever is the lead pastor; Dr. Mark Stallings is the group’s director with Janice Reid as the accompanist.

For more information, call Ann Rodgers Chandler, Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church, at 843-662-2583.
