Chicken bog benefit

on Tuesday, 28 August 2018. Posted in Faith, Local News

Monica Cain is 39 years old and is in need of a double lung transplant. Monica will have to relocate to Georgia so that Emory University can perform the transplant.

Cooks for Christ is raising funds to help with medical expenses as well as travel/living expenses while Monica is residing in Georgia.

Monica’s benefit will be held on Thursday, September 13 at the West Florence Fire Station on Pine Needles Road in Florence. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Drive through lanes will be open for your convenience and a bake sale will be held all day. Plates are $7 each. Lunch and dinner can be delivered for orders of seven plates or more. To schedule a delivery, please complete a delivery form and fax or email according to instructions provided on the form. The menu consists of chicken bog, green beans, slaw and bread.

To donate, please make checks payable to “Medical Fund for Monica Cain.” For additional information, please contact Geraldine Taylor 843-669-8502/843-229-5943 or Orlean Keith 843-667-9603/843-601-2524.

Cooks for Christ needs volunteers for prep day (Tuesday, Sept. 11) and on benefit day. Male volunteers are asked to be at the West Florence Fire Station at 7:15 a.m on the day(s) you plan to work, and the ladies need to report by 8:15 a.m. However, if you plan to deliver on benefit day, you can sign in by 8:30 a.m. Please let Cooks for Christ know if you can volunteer either day. If you can only work one day, please plan to work on Thursday morning, as deliveries must go out on time.

Wear a hat and closed toe shoes and report to the volunteer sign-in table when you arrive. As always, baked goods for our bake sale are always appreciated.
