Donald Trump often points fingers at Joe Biden, calling him ” incompetent ” and “unfit.” Yet, he continues to make public gaffes. For instance, at a New Hampshire rally, he mixed up Nikki Haley, the former Governor of South Carolina, with Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker.
Despite these slip-ups, Trump managed to win the primaries in Haley’s state last Saturday. This victory positions him as a strong contender for his party’s nomination, with predictions suggesting he’ll grab around 60% of the votes. Even so, his competitor is not backing down, indicating a strong determination to continue the race.
This persistence might stem from Trump’s inaccurate claim that his Republican nomination rival was responsible for Capitol security in Washington, DC, and involved Pelosi. Later on, he acknowledged his mistake. Amid his campaign for a return to the presidency, there’s growing concern over his cognitive abilities.
Psychologist and ex-professor explains the difference between Biden and Trump
Dr. John Gartner, a psychologist and ex-professor at Johns Hopkins University Medical School, has voiced concerns that it’s Trump who may be experiencing mental decline, not Biden. He suggests that this is a matter voters should seriously consider.

In an interview with Salon, he said: “I had to speak out now because the 2024 election might turn on this issue of who is cognitively capable: Biden or Trump? It’s a major issue that will affect some people’s votes. Not enough people are sounding the alarm, that based on his behavior, and in my opinion, Donald Trump is dangerously demented.”
“In fact, we are seeing the opposite among too many in the news media, the political leaders and among the public. There is also this focus on Biden’s gaffes or other things that are well within the normal limits of aging. By comparison, Trump appears to be showing gross signs of dementia. This is a tale of two brains. Biden’s brain is aging. Trump’s brain is dementing,” Gartner added.
Gartner further explained that Biden has been excoriated for forgetting names, which can be a normal part of aging. But Trump isn’t just forgetting names, he’s forgetting and combining people. Trump believes Nikki Haley is Nancy Pelosi. He has said repeatedly that Obama is still president. He said his father was born in Germany when that was his grandfather.
Here, we take a closer look at his recent blunders as questions continue about his ability to run again.
Melania mix-up
Everyone makes mistakes, but calling your wife by the wrong name? That’s a new level for Donald Trump.
During a speech in Washington at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Trump seemed to mix up Melania’s name with “Mercedes.” He was praising the former First Lady, telling the audience how much “people love her,” and then suddenly said, “Oh look at that Mercedes, that’s pretty good,” to the sound of applause.
Politicians need to be on top of their game, especially when it comes to election details.
The Michigan primaries mix-up
On Saturday, while addressing the nation, the presidential hopeful urged, “We need you to get out and vote to set the stage for November. Go vote November 27th. Remember this, that’s a date that is very important.”
However, there’s a catch – the Michigan primary actually takes place in February, not November.
Pelosi mix-Up
Recently, at a New Hampshire rally, Trump confused Nikki Haley with Nancy Pelosi, the former House Speaker.
Trump triumphed over Haley in her home state’s primaries, potentially securing his position as the party’s nominee. He’s expected to receive around 60% of the votes. However, Haley remains determined to continue the competition.
Her persistence might be fueled by Trump’s incorrect claim that she was responsible for Capitol security in Washington, a role actually associated with Pelosi. Additionally, Trump mentioned his newfound understanding of the term “indictment.”
