My hiding place
By: Kaye Singleton
“Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.” Psalm 32:7 (In the King James Version of the Holy Bible.)
As a child I remember playing Hide ‘n Seek. I am the oldest of eight and we played this game at least once a day. No iPads, computers or cell phones were in our house so we learned to play these old-fashioned games.
Being the oldest I found places to hide where my little brothers and sisters couldn’t find me. They soon caught on to where my favorite hiding place was and I had to find another place.
My favorite hiding place was the closet. There were clothes, blankets and pillows I could cover with so I could not be seen.
As a grown-up I have found a new hiding place. I go there daily knowing that I am safe and secure from the things I am facing in life. He gives me songs of deliverance. My hiding place is Jesus, Jesus is all that I need!
David found his hiding place in a song and I find it in Jesus, my Lord and my God!
