Go Paddle Festival planned for July 30
JOHNSONVILLE – The Friends of Revolutionary Rivers (FOREVR) group is holding a fundraiser paddle festival at Venters Landing in Johnsonville on Sunday, July 30, 1 to 6 p.m.
There will be swamp exploration guided tours, opportunities for kids and adults to casually paddle around the landing, food on the grill and water games.
• $10 – Water games, such as water pong, water wars, dunking booth and pitcher pump racing.
• $35 – Ticket includes 30 minutes casual paddle at Venters Landing, commemorative t-shirt, water games, and lunch from the grill, weather permitting.
• $75 – Ticket includes two hour guided swamp exploration, commemorative t-shirt, and lunch from the grill. Tour leaves at 1:30 p.m. from the landing. Limited number. Must be at least 12 years old. Water level and weather permitting.

Recently, the organization was awarded $1,500 by The Rotary Club of Florence to purchase adaptive equipment for handicapped individuals to be able to paddle. With public support, FOREVR will be able to do even more to grow awareness and stewardship of the 60 miles of Lynches Scenic River from Lynches River County Park to the Great Pee Dee.
