Reaching for the gold in Girl Scouts
Savannah Dynan, a senior at South Florence High, is pursuing a Gold Award, which is the highest award given in Girl Scouts.
For her project, she provided equipment for a self-contained autism classroom at Lester Elementary, which includes five desk-top easels and three T-stools, stools with one leg, to help with motor development and focus of autism students.
Savannah also presented two ball chairs and $340 in gift certificates to be used for sensory-related needs in the autism classroom. Savannah, who has autism herself, attended Lester Elementary from age 4 until 5th grade.
