Lenten services at Central

on Tuesday, 20 March 2018. Posted in News, Faith, Local News

During the season of Lent, Christians pay special attention to personal spiritual practices that help us reflect and renew as we look toward Easter Sunday. Central’s Lenten Spirituality Center is a place for members and the community to experience some spiritual practices, such as prayer, meditation, labyrinth walking and responding to scripture through artistic expression, all in a calm and quiet environment. Stations with instructions are set up and intended to be self-led. Children under the age of 12 should be accompanied by an adult. Visitors are asked to use the Irby Street entrance. The Center will be open in Spears Fellowship Hall March 16-30 during Central’s operating hours.

Lenten Mid-Week Service:

You are invited to Central United Methodist Church for a Lenten mid-week service on Wednesday, March 21, at 12:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. The guest preacher will be Rev. Carlton McClam Sr., Senior Pastor of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Charleston. Rev. McClam has pastored several churches in the South Carolina and North Georgia Conferences of the United Methodist Church and currently sits on the South Carolina Conference Board of Ordained Ministry.

There will be a $6 lunch served before (11:30 a.m.) and after (1 p.m.) the service. For more information or for a full listing of Lenten mid-week services, call the church office at 843-662-3218 or visit centralmethodist.net.
